About TM1 Inc
On February 14, 2004 the idea for TM1 Publishing Association was first formed by Monica M. Franklin. In celebrating her birthday, a discussion surrounding a song she wrote being stolen led her to recognize the significance of teaching artists the importance of protecting their original work. During that discussion she also realized that there were other music roles that were just as vital to the entertainment industry and that artists might consider as viable occupations in addition to performers, singers, rappers, and musicians. By fall of the same year, Ms. Franklin attended a music seminar, in Memphis, Tennessee, conducted by Wendy Day --an advocate for independent artists. Ms. Day emphasized the importance of working with accredited music businesses and music associations. Ms. Franklin then registered with American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and familiarized herself with all copyright rules and responsibilities. She then began passing out informational packets at music venues to help other artists register and protect their original work. Currently the major focus of TM1 Publishing Association is youth education and development.
